MEN AND BOYS
We know that there are men and boys who will want to support the spirit and intentions of the event. If you’re a man reading this, there are lots of ways in which you can show your support. You can:
- Support us by respecting women's spaces to meet, discuss, and organise
- Babysit children while your mum, partner, sister, daughter- friend or relative, attends the march
- Read, listen, hear, and learn more about the international situation of violence against women and girls
- Speak out to other men about all forms of abuse and violence
- Make a financial donation to help meet the cost of the march
- Ask your sports team to hold a two minute silence
- Organise discussion groups
- Blog about male violence and raise awareness and help change the consciousness that normalizes male violence in all it’s forms from pornography to prostitution, to sexist lyrics in music and videos, to the eduction and gender shaping of our children in schools
- Check out campaigns such as We Can, My Strength, and White Ribbon
- Come to the march and stand on the pavement and cheer us on
- Make ethical personal and political choices during your every day life which will contribute to ending violence against women and girls.
